Not all the produce you find at the farmers market is certified organic. Ask the farmer about their practices to learn more. Many are not certified but are even more meticulous about their product.
The Dirty Dozen is a list of fruits and vegetables which are treated with pesticides often. If you are worried about pesticides, buy organic:

The Clean Fifteen are fruits and vegetables that are generally grown with fewer pesticides. It is safe to buy conventional:
- Sweet Peas
- Sweet Potatoes
