What is Fresh Bucks?

Fresh Bucks helps Hoosier families eat healthy while supporting local farmers. Fresh Bucks is a SNAP incentive program used at Indianapolis area Farmers’ Markets. A SNAP user’s benefits go further by doubling purchasing power, up to $20, on fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds, herbs, mushrooms, and edible plants that you can take home and grow your own produce.

How It Works

Once you have received your monthly allocation on your Hoosier Works card, you may use those dollars at any participating farmers’ market for Fresh Bucks.

Visit the information booth at a participating Farmers' Market.

Tell them how many SNAP dollars you would like to spend, then swipe your Hoosier Works card.

You will be given your SNAP tokens for the amount you withdrew, and Fresh Bucks tokens, matching that amount up to $20.

Spend your Fresh Bucks tokens around the market, on fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, spices, and seeds or seedlings for edible plants!
